More uncertainty over frontline services
An email from the CPSU to its members highlights that teachers, nurses and police officers face even more uncertainty.
If unions concerns are correct and the Green-Labor Government decides to cut the time it takes to sack a frontline public servant, it will mean that teachers, nurses and police officers could be put on three months’ notice and then sacked.
We will not be supporting this Green-Labor Government in implementing any measures to assist them to sack frontline teachers, police or nurses.
The Tasmanian Liberals believe that there are sensible alternatives to mass sackings, such as strategic position management.
Not only are mass sackings unnecessary, they are counter-productive and contributing to falling retail spending.
