Whoops! Even the Government admits it’s pork barrelling

Lara Giddings’ startling Freudian slip yesterday well and truly confirms that Labor is trying to buy its way back into power.

When announcing more spending, she said:

“Today we’re announcing $18.5 million going towards the election…um…elective surgery”

Whoops!

Since 1 July 2009, the Government has announced $425 million in new spending, including $330 million in spending since the disastrous EMRS polling results were released on 12 November.

In fact, since 12 November last year, the Government has spent over $4 million a day on average.

This is not responsible, or sustainable and under Labor Tasmania is heading towards a fiscally uncertain future.
