Unions Tas

In response to the predictable Union Tas scare campaign, I can only reiterate our previously stated position that nobody working for a Government business will be sacked by a Hodgman Liberal Government.

We do believe that Government businesses could be more effective, which is why we announced last June that a Hodgman Liberal Government would review Government business performance.

Over the past few years, prices charged by Government businesses have been going up, yet returns to Government have been declining.

Indeed, some of the people Mr Cocker represents might rightly ask why they are paying more, yet returns to Government to fund vital public services have been declining.

As an incoming Government, frankly, it would be reprehensible if we didn’t at least take a look at how around $10 billion of taxpayer-owned assets were being managed.
