Flinders to Sturges: ‘Don’t you know who we are?’

It absolutely beggars belief that Flinders Island has been left off Labor’s State Infrastructure Strategy.

Infrastructure Minister, Graeme Sturges, hates it when people forget who he is, but I can only imagine how the Flinders Island community feels about being forgotten in Mr Sturges’ infrastructure strategy.

The fact is that over the past 12 years Flinders Island has disappeared from Labor’s map.

Claims that Labor have looked after Flinders Island will be treated by the community with the scorn they deserve.

The fact is that over 12 years, Flinders Island has not received the level of support that other communities in Tasmania have.

We will be launching our Flinders Island policy soon. It will show a way forward and a fresh start for Flinders Island. It will be based on working cooperatively with the Flinders Island Council and community to deliver the real change that they need to put the mess that Labor has made behind them and drive their economy forward into the future.
