Labor’s electricity price hoax

Labor’s electricity announcement is a cruel hoax and by capping prices next year Labor is setting Tasmanians up for even higher price rises into the future.

Our policy is to seek greater efficiencies from Tasmania’s energy companies and to encourage further competition and the result will be that energy prices will be lower under a Hodgman Liberal Government than under Labor.

Tasmanians should see Labor’s announcement for what it is. After letting electricity prices go up by around 35% over the past two years, Labor is now attempting to do and say whatever it can to cling on to power.

With this announcement it’s clear that Labor is trying to do in 35 days what it couldn’t do in 12 years. It’s too little, too late and it shows exactly why Tasmania needs the real change that only a Hodgman Liberal Government can offer.
