Response to Ta Ann statement

Ta Ann has today confirmed what we’ve been saying, and everyone knows: the IGA is destroying Tasmania’s forest industry, and it’s costing jobs.

Ta Ann has today pointedly noted that the IGA has destroyed certainty in the industry, which is negatively impacting upon international markets.

The disastrous forest deal has now descended into debacle: is hasn’t provided the promised peace, and is hopelessly bogged down in arguments about exactly what forests are so-called “high conservation value”.

To make matters worse, two Cabinet members are openly egging on the economic vandals who are trashing our forest industry in international markets.

The only way to restore certainty and protect jobs is for the Premier to rip up the job-destroying forest deal, kick the Greens out of Cabinet, and instead work with the Liberals on ways to grow the industry.
