 
Who is Peter Gutwein?

Raised at Nunamara, Peter Gutwein attended Myrtle Park Primary School followed by Queechy High School in Launceston. A keen sportsman, Peter represented Tasmania as a junior footballer and played senior football in both Tasmania and Western Australia.
Peter is 43 years of age, married to Amanda and they have a daughter Millie and a son Finn.
He qualified via Deakin University as a financial planner and holds a post-graduate qualification in Business Administration. Prior to entering politics he enjoyed a successful career in financial services holding senior management positions both in Australia and Europe.
He likes to keep fit and runs several times a week, and is also a qualified black belt instructor in the Korean martial art of Tae Kwan Do, which he took up ten years ago.
When Peter does take time out he enjoys spending time with his family, loves movies, reading and going to the football.
Peter was elected to State Parliament in the State elections of 2002 as a Liberal representative for Bass. He has held the shadow portfolios Employment, Economic Development, Education, Police and Public Safety, Infrastructure, Planning and is currently Shadow Treasurer, Shadow Minister for Energy and Shadow Minister for Sport and Recreation.
