 
About Peter Gutwein

Raised at Nunamara, Peter Gutwein attended Myrtle Park Primary School followed by Queechy High School in Launceston. A keen sportsman, Peter represented Tasmania as a junior footballer and played senior football in both Tasmania and Western Australia.
Peter is married to Amanda and they have a daughter Millie and a son Finn.
He qualified via Deakin University as a financial planner and holds a post-graduate qualification in Business Administration. Prior to entering politics he enjoyed a successful career in financial services holding senior management positions both in Australia and Europe.
He likes to keep fit and recently completed his first marathon, he is also a qualified black belt instructor in the Korean martial art of Tae Kwon Do.
When Peter does take time out he enjoys spending time with his family, loves movies, reading and going to the football.
Peter was elected to State Parliament in the State elections of 2002 as a Liberal representative for Bass. He has held the shadow portfolios Employment, Economic Development, Education, Police and Public Safety, Infrastructure, Planning, Energy, Sport & Recreation and is currently Shadow Treasurer, Shadow Minister for Forestry and Shadow Minister for Industry.
